The Julien J. Studley Graduate Program in International Affairs presents a discussion with former World Bank Urban Sector Leader Fitz Ford.

Fitz Ford gave a presentation on emerging internet based systems which have promising potential to make Governments more effective and the Governed more knowledgeable about, and effective participants in services designed to benefit them. These systems are being slowly and selectively adopted for various reasons. This presentation will describe some of the these systems, and discuss some of the problems and difficulties in implementing them. The optimistic view may be that these developments are inevitable; the pressing question is — what will accelerate the arrival of the inevitable?
