Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management Professor Ana Baptista was recently featured for bringing “a passion to her work, and the knowledge of how living in a specific locale can impact health.” Professor Baptista has long been an advocate for alternative energy production as a solution to the problems of pollution associated with the production and use of fossil fuels. Baptista grew up in the Ironbound in New jersey, and continues to advocate for policies that will lead to cleaner air, waters, and soil in the area. One of the main drivers of her efforts is the understanding that “children of color are the most at-risk victims of pollution.”
