GPIA Professor Nina Khrushcheva Talks About Her Most Recent Book At Columbia University

On Monday, October 13,nina GPIA Professor Nina Krushcheva will be giving a talk about her book The Lost Khrushchev: A Journey into the Gulag of the Russian Mind, at Columbia University.  Nina will be joined by Columbia Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Director of The Earth Institute, Quetelet Professor of Sustainable Development, Professor of Health Policy and Management at Columbia University.  The book is an important piece and comes out in a time where Russia is engaging in controversial and aggressive foreign policy with Ukraine. The book also gives unique insight into the Modern Russian narrative as well as the Russian historical context, influenced by Nina’s grandfather, Leonid Khrushchev and great grandfather, Nikita Khrushchev.  Both men held prominent positions within the Communist Party.

The event commemorates the 50th anniversary of Nikita Khrushchev’s October 14, 1964 ousting from the Kremlin.
