Milano alumna Tahini Rahman (NPM ’17) produced a story about how a young Muslim woman in Brooklyn struggles to reconcile being the person she wants to be and the woman her parents want her to be. The story and podcast titled “My Hijab, My Body – The Journey of a Tattooed Yemeni Feminist” was produced as part of Professor John Rudolph’s class on “Telling Immigrant Stories” in conjunction with Feet in Two Worlds.  Check her article and podcast here.

Rahman is a recent New School alumna. While at the New School, she pursued her MS in Nonprofit Management, focusing on youth and women empowerment, and specifically, gender issues.
