Nina also co-leads Tushevs Aerials, a project that teaches indigenous peoples to fly remote control airplanes in order to monitor deforestation within their territories. 

185382_10150262336756714_2140805_nPractical Experience While Studying at SGPIA: Nina participated in the International Field Program in Barcelona, where she supported the city’s preparation to host the Universal Forum on Cultures, an international cultural event that takes place every three years. During her time at SGPIA, Nina was also hired by Groots International, a global network of grassroots women’s organizations. This position allowed Nina to return to Barcelona a year after her IFP experience to work with United Cities and Local Governments, a Barcelona-based organization that defends the interests of local governments on the world stage.  

Career Path: Nina’s work in consulting and contracting over the last decade has given her the flexibility to take advantage of new opportunities. While serving as a consultant to the UNDP Equator Initiative, she has worked on documentary films, traveled extensively, and developed a program on indigenous entrepreneurship at Tribal Link Foundation, an NGO that supports indigenous peoples’ engagement in the United Nations.
