Urban Policy Alum Drew Curtis quoted in New York Times

the-new-york-times-logoDrew Curtis, Urban Policy ’10, is the director of the Ironbound Community Corporation, a local nonprofit in Newark, New Jersey. Ironbound Community Corporation’s mission is to engage and empower individuals, families and groups in realizing their aspirations and, together, work to create a just, vibrant and sustainable community.

A former steel plant in the Ironbound section of Newark is being replaced with a giant custom-built complex for AeroFarms, a company producing herbs and vegetables in an indoor, vertical environment. This month Drew Curtis was featured in the New York Times discussing the legacy of pollution in the area of Newark where this vertical farm will be located.
