I’m sure Dr. Fukuda-Parr’s assessment on the impacts and values of the MDGs will be objective and fair–a hard task, given the politicized, “diplomatic” nature of how the MDGs were arrived at by the UN General Assembly in the first instance. Her comments regarding the emphasis on Primary education (main beneficiaries: children) versus the de-prioritazation of secondary and higher education an outstanding example.
