Kim Nauer of The New School’s Center for New York City Affairs (CNYCA) housed within the Milano School was recently quoted in the Wall Street Journal article Anti-Truancy Efforts Notch High Marks. The article references a report published by CNYCA that examined absenteeism in elementary schools. On decreasing truancy, Nauer states:

“If you can do the detective work with the little kids and their parents to figure out what is keeping them from school, and then—and this is the important part—you have to have some solution for them, it really is that simple.”
