A night of spinning, dancing and brief remarks with DJs for Climate Action to support NRDC’s Environmental Justice work, the NYC Environmental Justice Alliance, and UPROSE including a specific focus on raising funds for UPROSE’s Climate Justice Youth Summit (CJYS). CJYS is the largest gathering of its kind in the United States, which attracts hundreds of young people of color to learn about climate justice through an innovative agenda that is entirely developed and implemented by youth leaders. The CJYS creates opportunities for young people of color to lead teach-ins, trainings, art builds, grassroots campaign development, DIY Just Transition workshops, and more as a way to build an authentic climate justice movement that is culturally and artistically attuned to the lives of young people.
