On the evening of February 7th,2013 beloved friends, family, colleagues, and former students gathered to honor Sue’s longtime unwavering dedication to The New School.
Sue came to The New School in 1976 as a student in Urban Affairs and Policy Analysis, completing her degree in 1978. Shortly before graduation, however, she was asked to head the Urban Policy Program, which she led until 1984 when she created Student Services at Milano. Not only did Susan create a new service at Milano but, over the last 28 years, she has counseled thousands of students, listening to them, occasionally crying with them, and always responding to their needs with good advice, forging new and imaginative ways out of what seemed to be intractable problems.
