Academic Experience at SGPIA: Josh attributes his continued studies and research to the intellectual groundwork he established at SGPIA, including his first experience studying economics at the graduate level and the exposure to a multitude of disciplinary and theoretical perspectives that continue to inform his understanding of development.

Current research: Josh’s dissertation research is on the welfare effects of premature deindustrialization. He has also worked with SGPIA Professor Sakiko Fukuda-Parr on several research projects that focus on measurements of development and global goals, and their uses and misuses.
