NYC Alliance Against Sexual Assault
About
The New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault (the Alliance) worked in partnership with a team of graduate student researchers from the Graduate Program in International Affairs (GPIA) at The New School. Together, the Alliance/GPIA research team developed research questions about scope and impact, intervention, and prevention, and designed a research methodology based on Participatory Action Research (PAR). PAR involves all relevant stakeholders in the research process, and works to empower the local community to identify issues they wish to address as well as to develop alternatives for change and suggested policy recommendations.
