economyHalve the Gap: Youth Disconnection in America’s Cities, the latest research brief from Measure of America. The report finds that an astounding 5.8 million teens and young adults nationwide between the ages of 16 and 24 are neither working nor in school. Findings on the prevalence of “disconnected youth” in the nation’s 25 largest metropolitan areas and at the neighborhood-level within them are also presented, along with a call to action to reduce gaps in youth disconnection within cities by half by 2030.
