Milano professor Sakiko Fukuda-Parr co-authored a journal article with Alicia Yamin (Harvard School of Public Health) Sakiko2-e1391203124280and Joshua Greenstein (NSSR Economics).  The article is entitled The Power of Numbers: A Critical Review of Millennium Development Goals and Targets for Human Development and Human Rights” and has just been published in the Journal of Human Development and Capabilities.  The research project contains 11 case studies in which the authors find that MDGs can distort development priories by reducing policy agendas, creating perverse incentives and shaping discourses. This paper is part of a forthcoming special issue with the same title that has been published in an on-line version ahead of the print version forthcoming later in 2014.
