Earlier this week Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer announced the appointment of Athena Moore as the head of Manhattan Borough President’s Northern Manhattan Office.  Athena graduated from the Milano School with an M.S. in Urban Policy.  Previously, Moore served as Director of Public Policy at the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS Inc.  She has also held senior titles such as Executive Director of the National Association of Social Workers – NYC, Executive Director of the Black Equity Alliance at the United Way of New York City and senior manager for the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies.  Moore brings expertise in policy advocacy, health, human services and strategic planing to the Manhattan Borough Northern Office and she will contribute greatly to the Manhattan Borough’s goal to strengthen community partnerships and improve quality of life in northern Manhattan.
