Urban Policy Alumna Sara Deconde

DeConde_PictureSara is a research and policy analyst for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, Office of Grants and Research, Research and Policy Analysis Division, dedicated to the Massachusetts Results First Initiative. Massachusetts is a leader among 16 states partnering with the Pew Charitable Trusts and John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to implement an innovative, cost-benefit approach to evidence-based policymaking. Previously, while earning her Master of Science in Urban Policy Analysis and Management at The New School – Milano, Sara conducted research for the Center for Court Innovation Misdemeanor Evidence-Based Assessment Project at the Bronx Criminal Court and Red Hook Community Justice Center. She has also held posts at a legal nonprofit organization and public defenders office. Sara attended St. Lawrence University and her research interests include: problem-solving justice, racial equity, access to counsel, prisoners’ rights, and juvenile justice.

Sara graduated from Milano in 2013.
