Join us for the December event of the Milano Management Brownbag Series. Next month, Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Aliza Racelis, will be giving a lecture titled “Virtues and the Common Good in Leadership.”

Dr. Racelis is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the New York Institute of Technology School of Management. She is looking forward to share about her recently published chapter in the book “Business Ethics: A Virtue Ethics and Common Good Approach” by Routledge with the New School.

The lecture will discuss the importance of virtue and moral character in leaders, as good leaders transcend the false dichotomy of business and personal life. From an Aristotelian perspective, good leadership is both ethical and effective; Aristotle’s Ethics emphasizes that leadership is, above all, about character, virtuous habits and actions. Dr. Racelis will elaborate on why by focusing on the role of character – rather than merely seeing compliance with rules or regulations as paramount – we are better able to see the interplay between individual responsibility and leadership.

This lecture will be broadcasted and posted on our Facebook page.
