Skye won SGPIA’s Best Thesis Award of 2011 for “Community Advancements Toward Affordable Urban Housing in East Africa: Reducing Unit Costs and Affecting System Change.”
Experience While Studying at SGPIA: As part of the International Field Program in Uganda, Skye worked for ACTogether, a non-governmental organization that supports the National Slum Dwellers Federation of Uganda. In addition to winning SGPIA’s Best Thesis Award of 2011, Skye also won the Outstanding Graduate Award.
Career Path: After receiving her MA from SGPIA, Skye returned to ACTogether for four years to serve as its Executive Director before joining Slum Dwellers International.
